President Trump joked that Joe Biden would get a special shot so he can perform well in the upcoming presidential debates. “Don’t underestimate him, look, he’s been doing this for 47 years,” the President said, referring to the upcoming debates. “You never know. They give him a big fat shot in the ass and he comes out, and for two hours he’s better than ever before.”

The President raised the possibility of both of them taking a drug test right before the debates. “Both of us. I’ll take it, he’ll take it,” the President said. Trump also recalled how Biden had run for president twice in the past. He made fun of the fact that Biden never got more than 1% of the vote in the Iowa caucus before he was picked by Obama to be his running mate. Biden on his own would never have gotten close to being president if he was not given more prominence by Obama’s choice.

“I used to call him one percent Joe, because he ran numerous times and he could only get one percent,” the President said. “Now he’s shot, he’s like got half of his head left … He’s totally shot, and he ends up getting the nomination.” The President is echoing what others are really thinking about Biden. Most people believe that he will be unable to debate the President. His cognitive performance in the past few months has been clearly declining as he keeps on making gaffe after gaffe. Another clear issue with Biden is his use of teleprompters when he is giving public addresses. The Biden campaign has refused to deny or confirm officially if Biden uses teleprompters. However, that was seemingly confirmed during a televised appearance of the former vice president where the image of a teleprompter was reflected on a picture that he was holding up.

The obvious concern now is how can Biden debate the President if he has to rely on prepared speeches for his appearances? That seems to be the reason why he has refused to take questions from reporters, or when he does take questions, they are obviously prepared ones. Many are still speculating that the Biden campaign will find a last-minute excuse for the former VP not to show on the debate stage. It seems quite obvious to anyone that he doesn’t stand a chance of going one on one against the President.
