On Thursday, the U.S. Marshal Services uncovered a massive pedophile ring in their 2-month anti-gang crime operation in Oklahoma.

Within 60 days, federal officers had successfully made a whopping 262 arrests against the people who were allegedly involved in running the gang operation. Most importantly, the officers were able to rescue and take into custody five children that were reportedly missing.

In a report from a local media outlet, KFOR, the discovery was a part of “Operation Triple Beam.” The news site wrote that the initiative was made by the Marshals and their respective law enforcement partners in an effort to address violent crimes in the city. In a statement by U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Oklahoma Johnny Kuhlman, he said, “Our primary goal with operations like OTB is to make communities safer. When we arrest these violent fugitives, we are also removing guns and narcotics from our streets.” He also hoped that the crackdown would bring immediate changes in their community.

During the course of the entire operation, federal officers had successfully made 262 arrests. Some of the charges that can be filed against the gang members include 21 burglary suspects, six homicide suspects, 57 drug suspects, and 88 weapons offenses. Moreover, authorities have also recovered 72 firearms and 9 kilograms of drugs, which costs an estimated $17,000.

The rescue operation was a part of a larger nationwide mission which attempts to find other missing children. Back in January, Trump signed an executive order in connection with the “human trafficking awareness month.” The administration’s new legislation gave authorities a direct order to conduct a crackdown on human traffickers, whom the President described as “monsters.”

Last August, the U.S. Marshals also rescued 39 children in Georgia. Dubbed as the “Operation Not Forgotten,” authorities have scoured Atlanta and Macon to rescue 26 endangered children, while 13 more were safely found. The U.S. Marshall claimed, “When we track down fugitives, it’s a good feeling to know that we’re putting the bad guy behind bars.” However, federal officers claimed that the best feeling was able to safely bring back missing children.

In a separate incident, U.S. Marshals also conducted “Operation Safety Net” in Northeast Ohio. The mission was able to bring back 25 children out of the 200 missing children in the state. However, officers claimed that the operation could last as long as October.

In his statement, U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott believed that the children were subjected to poor living conditions and horrifying abuse. Elliot claimed that some of the children aged 13 to 18 years old were either trafficked, neglected, and sexually abused. Worse, the U.S. Marshall cited that there are some cases where the parents would traffic their own child.
