On Tuesday, President Donald Trump responded to harsh criticisms that former First Lady Michelle Obama threw at him during the lackluster Democratic National Convention.

During her Monday speech for the first day of the DNC convention, the former First Lady blasted Trump and accused him of being incompetent to handle the ongoing health, political, and economic crisis that the country is currently facing.

Trump immediately responded to Obama’s harsh words. He remarked, “Somebody please explain to [Michelle Obama] that Donald J. Trump would not be here, in the beautiful White House, if it weren’t for the job done by your husband, Barack Obama.”

The President also noted that the convention failed to highlight Biden. In fact, he just became an “afterthought”’ to Obama’s speech citing it as a good reason as to why the former President and First Lady made a late and “‘less enthusiastic”’ endorsement of their close ally. The President went on and boasted that his leadership was able to build the greatest economy in history, adding that NASDAQ is already at “record high.”

However, Trump did not stop there. He called the previous Obama-Biden administration one of the most corrupt governments in history, adding that they went as far as spying on his campaign. Trump-branded the entire incident as the “biggest political scandal and should be labeled as “treason”.

During her speech, Obama used her influence to downgrade Trump. She went as far as to express her disappointment that the American people allowed the President to win in the 2016 elections. The former first lady hinted that being president does not change people; instead, it “reveals”’ who they are. She also claimed that Trump’s win reflected the American people and their priorities.

Obama also blamed Trump for the death of more than 150,000 Americans, a collapsed economy, and his failure to mitigate and contain the virus. Most importantly, Obama claimed that it had left millions of Americans without a job, and struggling to provide for their basic necessities such as food and rent. Obama lamented that the administration had made health care inaccessible and that many Americans struggled to find treatment and medical care.

Finally, Obama mentioned how Trump had put an end to costly international treaties and deals that the previous administration had forged. At the end of her 18-minute speech, Obama reaffirmed her belief that Trump should not be made president of the United States.

The DNC convention had become such a major disaster, that their own nominee even failed to gain attention. Instead, people believed that it was Obama who took the spotlight away from Biden.
