Left-wing media outlet ABC had recently published a damaging report accusing the US military of receiving early warnings of the deadly coronavirus as far back as November.

Based on ABC’s exclusive report, the media outlet claimed that the National Center for Medical Intelligence had already warned the administration of the possible spread of a “contagion” late last year. The “contagion,” which had affected the city of Wuhan in China had already made sweeping changes in the region, and that it had already posed a “threat to the population.”

The report said that two US officials who had seen the document confirmed that there was a “detailed” intelligence report since November. It also said that “wire and computer intercepts, coupled with satellite images,” were able to analyze that the virus had already gone out of control, and imposes a looming threat in the US and Asia.

Even more damning, the report claimed that administration, as well as the Pentagon’s Joint Staff, and the DIA, had been briefed multiple times about the possibility of the virus’s widespread destruction. In fact, ABC claimed that lawmakers, the National Security Council, and the White House held briefings as early as December.

The sources said there were repeated briefings through December for policy-makers and decision-makers across the federal government as well as the National Security Council at the White House. The said meeting was concluded with a “detailed explanation” of the threat to the President’s Daily Brief last January. The report also cited that the information had been made “available widely” to those who have access to the intelligence community, which had been passed on since Thanksgiving.

However, the Pentagon denied such allegations that the military had received an intelligence report about the coronavirus. According to an official report from Col. R. Shane Day, the director of the National Center for Medical Intelligence at the Defense Intelligence Agency, in terms of transparency about the pandemic, “we can confirm that media reporting about the existence/release of a National Center for Medical Intelligence Coronavirus-related product/assessment in November of 2019 is not correct. No such NCMI product exists.”

During the briefing, another military official confirmed that they had spent “considerable time” to examine all “possible products” and have not seen anything that might be related to the said information.

Even President Donald Trump denied the accusations on Wednesday. The president said that if he had known about such a massive threat, he would have acted sooner. He continued to say that he would have immediately issued a travel ban on China and even Europe. “So, I don’t know exactly, but I’d like to see the information,” Trump added.
