President Trump announced on Twitter that he’s contacting the Prime Minister of Sweden to try to help rapper A$AP Rocky get out of jail. The president credited the First Lady for making him aware of the A$AP Rocky’s arrest in Sweden.

The 20-year-old rapper and two of his friends were detained on July 3 after a brawl broke out on the streets of Stockholm.

In both videos, A$AP Rocky and his friends are heard repeatedly asking the men to stop following them. One of the men throws his headphones at A$ASP Rocky’s body guard. A$AP Rocky caption read: SO A FEW DRUG ADDICTS ARE NOT MY FANS , WE DONT KNOW THESE GUYS AND WE DIDNT WANT TROUBLE, THEY FOLLOWED US FOR 4 BLOCKS, AND THEY WERE SLAPPING GIRLS BUTTS WHO PASSED, GIVE ME A BREAK

A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, has a massive fan base including over 10.6 million followers on Instagram, so it’s not surprising that President Trump’s tweet is trending on Twitter.

Reality star Kim Kardashian West publicly thanked President Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Senior Advisor Jared Kushner on Twitter.

The Congressional Black Caucus and Reverend Al Sharpton have rallied behind the musician calling for A$AP Rocky’s release. Reps. Adriano Espaillat, André Carson, Hakeem Jeffries, and Joaquin Castro also called for the rapper’s immediate release alleging “human rights violations” and “inhumane conditions” committed against the rap star.

Fans and celebrities have been showing their support on social media with the hashtag #JusticeForRocky. A petition on Change.org, which urged Swedish officials to release the rapper, got over 616,000 signatures.
