As the Democratic Party had officially named former Vice President Joe Biden as their nominee, Tara Reade, one of Biden’s sexual assault victims, claimed that despite promoting the #MeTooMovement, left-wing politicians are complicit of enabling perpetrators.

On Thursday, Reade reacted to the DNC convention in an interview with Fox News. The former Biden employee claimed that the party is “complicit” in allowing sexual assault victims to be “gaslighted.” She believed that despite pushing for gender equality, and women empowerment, left-wing politicians are actually allowing “rape culture” to “thrive.”

Reade began, “I’m a sexual assault survivor. So, to me, what the speaker lineup showed is kind of a thumb in all our faces.” She continued, “Rape culture in the United States is thriving under the Democratic Party. I feel like they are not only enabling, but they’re allowing that behavior to continue.”

She also pointed out that the speakers at the convention were also men who had a history of sexual assault and sexual harassment allegations. This includes former U.S. President Bill Clinton, who had an affair with his former intern, 21-year-old Monika Lewinsky. Other women, including Juanita Broaddrick and Paula Jones, also accused Clinton of rape. To top it all off, British media outlet, The Daily Mail, dropped a bombshell after releasing a photo of Bill Clinton getting a massage from Jeffrey Epstein’s rape victim. The photo was published the day Clinton was scheduled to deliver his DNC speech.

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was also in the list of speakers. Throughout the years, Bloomberg also faced numerous sexual harassment allegations in the workplace. This includes pregnancy discrimination, and his attempt to discredit the #MeToo movement.

Moreover, Reade claimed that allowing powerful men to speak despite numerous sexual assault allegations felt like ‘“abandonment’’ for victims, especially for those women who are fighting for “‘systemic changes’” in the workplace. She continued that there is “astounding” hypocrisy in sexual assault and sexual harassment allegations.

In fact, Reade claimed that she had received unfair treatment from the media, especially when Republicans were also accused of the same thing. Instead of winning media support, the former Biden employee claimed that she became a target of hostility.

Reade argued that it’s not about whether the allegations were true. For the sexual assault victim, it should be about the ”approach.” Reade explained that no woman should feel like they have to lose everything whenever they decide to come forward.

Finally, Reade blasted Democrats who claimed that they were an ally of the #MeToo movement, when in fact, using it to “shield” other democratic elites. Reade said, “some of the main, powerful people involved with the party are actually perpetrators themselves”.

In the end, Reade said that the party’s “denial” and gaslighting of sexual assault survivors should be matter of great concern. She concluded that the constant denial of these allegations is not just about their decision to ignore the issue. Rather, it made them “complicit.”
