On Tuesday, presumptive Democratic candidates, and former Vice President, Joe Biden accused President Donald Trump of putting his own self-interest ahead of the nation’s overall wellbeing, citing that his ‘narcissism has become more important than the nation’s well being that he leads.

In a statement, Biden began by making a promise that he “won’t traffic in fear and division” as nationwide protests erupted over the death of 46-year-old George Floyd. He claimed that he would not encourage partisanship as the nation grappled with the crisis, “I won’t fan the flames of hate.” He continued that instead, he will “heal the racial wounds that have long plagued our country, not use them for political gain.”

The problem?

Not a day after he made his remarks, Biden used Floyd’s last words in an email campaign. He repeated the words, “I can’t breathe.” “I can’t breathe,” stating that Floyd’s last words continued to resonate across America. The statement went on to say that the nation had become unsafe, as a person’s safety can be determined by their skin color. Below the email statement, the campaign team added a glaring red button that asked for donations to elect Biden.

Moreover, the presumptive Democratic nominee had criticized President Donald Trump. Biden claimed that while Trump had held up a bible at the St John’s church, he wished that the President actually took the time to read it. “If he opened it, he could have learned something.”

However, his criticisms against the current administration did not stop there. In his statement, Biden said he wished he could say that all the hate had started with Trump and that it would end once he was out of office. Biden realistically added that “It didn’t, and it won’t.” He also claimed that the U.S. president had turned the nation into a “battlefield” where “old resentments” clashed in with “new fears.” The former Vice President even had the audacity to claim that the President’s “narcissism has become more important than the nation’s well being that he leads.”

The presumptive Democratic nominee also lashed out against Trump for wanting to make changes to Obamacare. Biden argued that the President does not care about the millions of Americans who might be “hurt” due to his “blinding ego,” specifically when it comes to competing against former President Barack Obama.

To point out Biden’s increasing hypocrisy, the former Vice President has consistently used the anti-Wall Street rhetoric from his fellow Democrats. While he publicly criticized the country’s top business hotshots, he also collected money from those same people and stashed it on his enormous war chest that was meant for his presidential campaign. In fact, Biden had received a whopping $29,703,244 for his campaign, from Securities industry employees, a close proxy for Wall Street, according to a report from the Center for Responsive Politics. On the contrary, President Donald Trump only received $6,320,861. The money didn’t just stop there. Biden also cashed in on Wall Street giants, such as J.P.Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs.
