On Monday during “The View,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg likened President Donald Trump to Nazi doctor, Josef Mengele, over his controversial statements to inject bleach.

Goldberg began by saying that the reason she continued to bring back the issue was that she finds the information harmful for little kids. The host then continued to suggest that the last person who has tried to inject bleach was a Nazi doctor. “You know, the last person that really even suggested anyone use bleach was a man called Dr. Mengele, and he did bad things to people. So we don’t discuss bleach,” Goldberg lamented.

Mengele, whom the host referred to, was both a doctor and a German SS officer. He was known for his brutal and deadly experiments on Auschwitz prisoners in the World War II concentration camp. Moreover, most of Mengele’s patients or rather, “experiments” involved twins, with whom he injected dangerous chemicals, as well as to conduct unnecessary surgeries, amputations, and blood transfusions.

She added that although she felt “compassion” for those who were present during Thursday’s conference, Goldberg criticized journalists for not standing up against the president, saying that “No, sir, that is a dangerous thing to say because you can actually kill people.”

The host then moved on to infectious disease expert and White House coronavirus response coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx. In her statement, Goldberg slammed Birx for her inability to stand up against the president. The host lamented that the reason she was a member of the coronavirus task force was to ensure that people are getting their facts straight. Goldberg added that it was her job to ensure that the American public remains safe.

As if it was not enough, Goldberg lashed out that Birx should not consider it as a joke, adding that the doctor and the rest of the team refused to make Trump accountable for his actions, saying that nobody called out the president for it. She suggested that Birx should have said, “No, sir. No one can ingest bleach ever because it kills. That’s what they needed to do, and nobody did it. So, you know, that’s all I have to say.”

Goldberg’s co-hosts also chimed in to criticize Dr. Birx’s staunch defense of President Donald Trump. Sunny Hostin commented that the president had put the American public in danger due to his careless remarks. On the other hand, their fellow co-host Joy Behar mocked Trump’s comment by saying that he does not know what sarcasm meant. Behar then added that Trump has to have a “bit of brain.” Behar tried to be humorous and suggested that Steven Miller, or even Trump’s son in law Jared Kushner should try it first.

The host’s statements came as a response to Dr. Birx’s refusal to give in to the media pressure after her back to back media appearance on the weekend. On Sunday, the infectious disease expert slammed CNN host Jake Tapper and called out the media for sensationalizing the news, as well as its organizational failure to deliver accurate information to the American public.
