Slumping Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has run into yet another embarrassing gaffe on the campaign trail. This time it was not related to his son Hunter’s foreign corruption or his old age, it was because of his Catholicism and support for abortion.

While campaigning in the incredibly important primary state of South Carolina, the former Vice President attended mass at Saint Anthony’s Church in Florence, SC. The presiding priest, Father Robert E. Morey, told SCNow.com that he had to refuse Biden communion during the mass based on his stance on abortion rights.

“Sadly, this past Sunday, I had to refuse Holy Communion to former Vice President Joe Bide,” Morey said. “Holy Communion signifies we are one with God, each other and the Church. Our actions should reflect that. Any public figure who advocates for abortion places himself or herself outside of Church teaching.” As a true purveyor of the Catholic Faith, Father Morey also added, “I will keep Mr. Biden in my prayers.”

Like all the other Democratic candidates, Biden has been outspoken on the campaign trail about the hot-button issue of abortion. He has agreed with all the candidates on supporting and codifying Roe v. Wade if he were to be elected President.
